Let it be known to all and sundry that if you desire to increase your knowledge of jazz (not necessarily your instrument); play with like minded people (in ensemble’s); learn new aspects of understanding jazz; socialise in a relaxed and comfortable environment and be exposed to the BEST of professional jazz musicians (the course tutors) then it would be remiss NOT to attend one of these courses. I came away from an intense, packed daily program of playing wonderful jazz tunes individually led by a different tutor every day exhausted but totally thrilled to have experienced such a great collaboration of musicians. A 100% positive experience. JUST DO IT!

I attended the first Australian Jazz School in Ballarat in April 2024. It was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the intensive immersion under the guidance of world class tutors. There were many opportunities to play - with tutors in the small ensemble sessions, at daily performances, during informal jam sessions, and at the public gig at the end of the week. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to work with all the tutors, each of whom offered a unique perspective. The tutors were not only terrific musicians but were clearly committed to and passionate about jazz education. We were treated to nightly performances by the tutors. Having attended previous jazz camps in the U.S., it was a particular pleasure to meet many local musicians and hopefully this will lead to a greater sense of community in the adult amateur jazz scene. Thank you again for all the work that made this happen!

It’ll be really wonderful to do the course again in 2026! With new inspiration and a year to prepare I’m sure I’ll learn and grow even more through another week with the course’s brilliant tutors . Thank you Quinton for presenting this opportunity.Anna x
